The Seiko "Turtle" third diver model holds a significant position in the realm of dive watches, being widely regarded as one of the most iconic and beloved designs. Its enduring popularity is evidenced by Seiko's continued production of diver watches inspired by its distinct features. The watch's undeniable presence on the wrist, coupled with its recognizable Turtle shell aesthetic, makes finding an immaculate specimen quite a challenging endeavor, especially when seeking the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) version.
This particular model represents the third iteration in Seiko's 150m diver series. Powered by the Cal.6306 21J movement, it is a rare timepiece exclusively available in Japan during the period from 1976 to 1979. What sets it apart from the export version, the Cal.6309 17J, are the added functionalities of hacking (allowing precise time setting) and a bilingual calendar displaying both Japanese and English.
The example being offered is in pristine condition, a testament to its well-preserved state. It includes new compatible DAL1BP straps and its original box.
Ships from Tokyo, Japan.
