The Seiko 6139-60XX chronographs have achieved legendary status, primarily due to their distinct barrel-shaped cases and eye-catching color combinations. Two versions of these chronographs were manufactured: a larger one intended for export, featuring fewer jewels, and a smaller one specifically designed for the Japanese market, incorporating additional jewels and exclusive features such as the "Speed Timers" label and the "5 Sports" emblem displayed on the dial.
These Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) models, characterized by their unique color variations and signature bracelets, also offer the convenience of toggling between English and Japanese (Kanji) for the day of the week display. Despite their immense popularity among collectors, obtaining these JDM references can prove challenging due to their limited availability outside of Japan.
We are excited to offer a beautiful example from June 1971.
