The Seiko 6138 is the second iteration following the 6139, introducing several enhancements not found in its predecessor.
 
One notable addition is the inclusion of a 12-hour register for the chronograph, allowing for more comprehensive timekeeping. Furthermore, the 6138 can now be manually wound using the crown, and the day and date can be independently set with greater convenience. The name "bullhead" was given to this model due to Seiko's decision to rotate the movement within the case by 90 degrees, positioning the crown and chronograph pushers at the top, resembling the horns of a bull.
 
 
Measuring nearly 44mm in diameter, this timepiece is truly a robust and substantial watch. Its gradient brown dial, gold sub-registers, and "root beer" bezel exude an abundance of 1970s charm. Produced specifically for the Japanese domestic market, this particular variant, known as the "Speed Timer," features the distinctive "Speed Timer" label positioned just below the Seiko logo on the dial. The hands and hour markers are painted in a crisp flat white color rather than having a luminous coating. The chronograph sweep hand stands out with a vibrant fiery orange hue, and the day display can be toggled between Japanese (Kanji) and English.
