The Seikomatic series was introduced in the early 1960s as Seiko's high-end collection of automatic watches. As the name suggests, Seikomatics featured automatic movements and were crafted in stainless steel or gold-plated cases.
The model we have available is the rare Ref.6201-8950. Produced from 1964 to 1965, it is a simple model without a date function, but it boasts an intriguing design with pointed cylindrical indexes. Powering the watch is the automatic Cal.603 movement, which is notably gold-plated. During that period, Seikomatic produced models with 17, 20, and 30 jewels, but only those with 30 jewels were given the gold-plated treatment. The watch is relatively large compared to other vintage Seiko timepieces, contributing to its appealing presence on the wrist.
