SOLD - Seiko Panda 7018-7000

Seiko's Daini factory produced remarkable chronographs during the early 1970s, including the lesser-known but exceptional 70XX "flyback" models. Among them, the 7018-7000 single-register "Pandas" are considered the rarest and most visually appealing timepieces ever released by Seiko. Although slightly smaller in size (37.5mm) compared to their 61XX counterparts, they deliver outstanding performance. These watches feature a true "flyback" function, allowing the chronograph to be reset to zero without stopping the mechanism—a complication typically found in sophisticated Swiss chronograph movements today.

The showcased watch, from December 1971, is absolutely stunning. Its dial showcases a lacquered sunburst finish in a silvery white hue, while an iridescent black sub-register with concentric rings and a distinct "teardrop" counter sits just above the six o'clock marker. The dial's periphery displays a satin silver minute and second track with black markings.

The case exhibits angular lines, converging into points at the lug tips, and is accompanied by the original bracelet featuring alternating vertical and horizontal brushed finishes.
