SOLD - Seiko Navigator Timer GMT 6117-8000

The first GMT pilot's watch from Seiko, known as the 6117-8000, has become highly sought after and incredibly difficult to find.

Following the introduction of Seiko's World Timer during the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, the 6117-8000 Navigator Timer emerged as their second GMT watch. It boasts a cleaner design compared to the standard GMT layout and is equipped with the reliable 6117 movement.

The watch showcases a captivating silver dial coated with a glossy lacquer finish, enclosed by a raised black chapter. It is adorned with silver hash marks and large square luminous markers at each hour, providing clear visibility.

The vibrant red 24-hour hand adds a touch of color and, in combination with the bezel, allows for tracking time in a second time zone. The bezel features a coin-edge style, ensuring smooth rotation in both directions and securely locking in place once adjusted.

The 6117A movement is robust and impressively accurate, maintaining near-perfect timekeeping.

For devoted vintage Seiko enthusiasts, owning this timepiece is a must. However, finding one in such excellent condition is a rare opportunity that shouldn't be missed.
