SOLD - Seiko Jumbo 6138-3000

The nickname of the 6138-3000, the "Jumbo," is well-deserved, and its 42mm size certainly justifies it. However, its large size is perfectly balanced with its sophistication. The matte black multilevel dial is adorned with sleek contrasting markers and is flawlessly framed by the subtly angled chapter. The white hour and minute baton-style hands seamlessly blend in, while the vibrant yellow chronograph hands add a tasteful burst of color.

The case is intricately detailed and possesses an undeniable presence on the wrist. The bracelet, also featured in the 6138-800X Baby Panda models, offers both comfort and a polished appearance. With the added convenience of an independent rare black and white day and date quickset, as well as the ability to manually wind the mainspring, the 6138 surpasses its predecessor. The chronograph functions operate with precision and responsiveness, and after servicing, it maintains near-perfect timekeeping.

This particular watch from March of '72 is entirely original, retaining its crisp and unpolished condition. It is a timeless classic that undoubtedly stands out as a top contender in any vintage collection.

  • The chronograph is in near-mint condition: The case is strong with just some light scratches. The dial is the main attraction here as it is very clean and the hands are still intact including the baton hands and yellow chronograph and subdial hands.

The bracelet is in very good condition and has few scratches and still retains its sharp edges: You can enjoy the vertical brushing lines as it still shines beautifully in the sunlight.

The glass has been replaced with a NOS part from Seiko.
