Seiko Crown Chronograph 45899

Nearly a decade prior to unveiling their inaugural automatic chronograph, the 6139, Seiko commemorated the Olympic Games in Tokyo by launching two distinctive and specialized timepieces that would leave an indelible mark on Seiko's heritage.

The initial creation was the 6217 World Time, while the second stood as a monopusher chronograph, boasting a 60-second timer, famously recognized as the 45899.

Rooted in the hand-wound Crown movement, the "Monopusher" signaled the dawn of a groundbreaking era for Seiko. Its chronograph mechanism incorporated the iconic column wheel, orchestrating the engagement with the chronograph wheel horizontally through two coupling wheels via the third wheel. The single pusher elegantly served the dual function of initiating and halting the sweep hand, as well as swiftly resetting it.

This stunning white variant is adorned with luminescent hands and lume plots encircling its elegant silver hour indexes. Additionally, it features a minute register, perfect for precise seconds measurement when utilizing the chronograph function.

Ships from Tokyo, Japan.
