Today, we are listing yet another very rare chronograph from Seiko referenced 6138-8000 AKA Baby Panda. Introduced in 1971, the 23 Jewels version of Cal. 6138B was in production for only one year, and cased only inside the 6138-800x, a Japan domestic model.
Same as the 8001 variant, two dials are available for the 8000: Black iridescent charcoal and pearl white. The chronograph we have to offer is the creamy dial version.
This particular model is slightly narrower and lighter compared to its respective jumbo 6138-8001 which makes it very suitable for thinner wrists. This reference also comes with a great advantage: Both dial and hour/minute hands are lumed which gives it great legibility at night. The Tachymeter ring is thinner which makes the dial very subtle and cleaner.
This one is even more special. it's an unused and perfect example that was initially part of a private collection. With all the features working well, it's one of the best examples we have to offer.

The baby panda is one of the best examples you can ever find nowadays: It was initially found as a deadstock and kept in a private collection. The case retains its original factory finishes and brushing as it left Suwa factory. The dial is the main attraction here as it is very clean and the hands are still intact including the orange tip.
The bracelet is tight, in perfect condition, and still retains its sharp edges with the sticker still present on the clasp: You can enjoy the brushing lines as it still shines beautifully in the sunlight.
The bezel is in good condition with no sign of bumps and the glass has no visible scratches.Expect very thin scratches due to storage but nothing noticeable.
