The Seiko 6138 is the second release following the 6139 and introduces several features that were missing in its predecessor.
One notable addition is the inclusion of a rolling 12-hour register for the chronograph function. Moreover, the 6138 now allows manual winding via the crown and enables independent quick setting of the day and date. The nickname "bullhead" was given to this model because Seiko decided to rotate the movement within the case by 90 degrees, positioning the crown and chronograph pushers at the top to resemble the horns of a bull.
With a size of nearly 44mm, it truly stands out as a substantial timepiece. The gradient brown dial, gold sub-registers, and "root beer" bezel contribute to its appealing 1970s aesthetic. This particular variant, known as the "Speed Timer," was specifically designed for and exclusively sold in the Japanese domestic market. Distinguishing it from its export counterpart, the dial features the "Speed Timer" designation just below the Seiko logo. The hands and hour markers are painted in a striking flat white color rather than having a luminous finish. Additionally, the chronograph sweep hand is a vibrant fiery orange instead of yellow, and the day can be displayed in either Japanese (Kanji) or English.
The watch including the chronograph features works without issues.
Upon purchase, the watch will be serviced/cleaned and the glass will be replaced before shipping. Please expect 1-2 months before shipping.

The chronograph is in near-mint condition: The case is strong with just some light scratches. The dial is the main attraction here as it is very clean and the hands are still intact.
