This watch is highly regarded among collectors and is considered the ultimate find in the 6139-70XX series.
Produced for a brief period in the early months of 1970, it was quickly updated to the 701X Speedtimer series. At first glance, it may appear similar to other 701X SpeedTimer models, but there are subtle differences. The dial, although visually identical to the 7012, features the proof logo on the left side and the "SpeedTimer" logo below the "Seiko 5 Sports" branding. The hands have a similar configuration to other 701X models, but the Chronograph minute register has a distinctive "teardrop" shape.
The chronograph hands retain their original vibrant orange color, including the correct "two-piece" sweep at the center. The day can be switched between English and Kanji (Japanese) by pressing inward on the recessed dimpled crown.
The case remains unpolished, preserving the original factory edges and finishes. This watch is completely authentic, and its 21-jewel 6139A movement is keeping time almost flawlessly.
Servicing is also possible for an extra fee. Please contact us if you wish to service it.
Opportunities to own this reference in this condition are much like the watch itself, incredibly rare.
Ships from Tokyo, Japan.
