The King Seiko line was originally created by Daini Seikosha as a high-end hand-wound rival to Suwa’s Grand Seiko.
Automatic King Seikos began modestly with the 5626-7000 in 1968, followed by the 5626-7010 in 1969. In 1970, six new models appeared, three certified as Superior Chronometers by Japan’s newly founded Chronometer Inspection Institute. Among them, the 5626-7040 stood out for its balanced design and became the longest-produced automatic KS.
The 5626-7040 featured a monocoque case with a unique hatch between the lugs for external fine adjustment. In 1973, this was replaced by a screw-down case back, renumbered as the 5626-7041, which retained the same appearance but lost the external regulator.
This Ref. 5626-7041 we're offering today is an untouched deadstock example that comes with its original box, outer box, price tag, and the iconic KS buckle.
The watch will be serviced once purchased, please allow 1-2 months for servicing to be completed.
