There is no denial that the King Seiko 45KS series are iconic, embodying Tanaka’s famed Grammar of Design with sharp lines, crisp edges, and mirror-like finishes. But beyond aesthetics, these watches carry serious horological pedigree. Their movements trace back to the legendary Swiss chronometer trials of the 1960s.
 
At the heart of the 45KS lineup lies a true chronometer-grade movement, following in the footsteps of the King Seiko 4420-9990. Unlike many competitors that self-certified their accuracy, King Seiko chronometers underwent rigorous testing at the Japan Chronometer Inspection Institute, to ensure they met strict Swiss chronometer standards. To earn the coveted Officially Certified mark on the dial, these watches had to maintain an impressive accuracy range of -1.0 to +10.0 seconds per day across five positions also known as Seiko’s esteemed 'A' grade precision.
 
One iconic model we're offering is the King Seiko Ref. 4502-8010. While also available in a no-date version, this reference was exclusively made in stainless steel and features a striking white sunburst dial. It shares the distinctive “turtle” shape of the 7010 case, but the 8010 stands apart with a thicker, more robust profile that is especially noticeable from the side. Its short, sturdy lugs and sharply sloping case flanks create a refined, pebble-like silhouette. The hands, exclusive to the chronometer model, feature bold black central stripes, echoing the 45KS aesthetic but with a sleeker, less sword-like design.
 
The example we’re offering is an absolute time capsule: Completely stickered/unused and accompanied by its original tags, instruction manual, and both inner and outer boxes.
